This series approaches portraiture through distortion and mediation. By placing printed faces inside transparent vessels filled with water, the image becomes fragile, displaced, and transformed. While creating this work, I felt a sense of drowning, yet also a desire to see myself again and to search for my own reflection. The portraits are no longer fixed representations, but unstable reflections that question how identity can be perceived, fragmented, or obscured. In this way, the work turns a traditional portrait into an object of memory, distance, and transformation.
