This image is from my photographic series titled 'The Transcendental Universal Masculine' presents fine art portraiture evoking classical Vedic murals in photographic form of the All Attractive Supreme Divine Being. The goal of this project is to bring the descriptions of the Supreme Being or Purusha as given by the Vedas with European art aesthetic, bringing together these two different worlds like never seen before. The Vedas reveal that the Supreme Being, otherwise known as God, is not just light or an impersonal force but rather the All Attractive Person who attracts the minds and hearts of all living entities. He is described as ever youthful and unchanging, and takes on many colors and roles, descending time and time again into the creation. This image is crafted from scriptural references in costume, gesture, ornament and postures. The background is deliberately kept black, ensuring undistracted focus on the Person. The visual language draws from the chiaroscuro intensity of Renaissance masters, the lyricism of Indian miniature painting, and the fluid surrealism of modernist art. This work is a visual meditation, inviting all viewers to experience beauty as a pathway to the Supreme Person.
